Berkley announces prescription benefit checks on the way |

(June 14, 2010) – Congresswoman Shelley Berkley announced that on June 10, Medicare began mailing out $250 checks to tens of thousands of seniors under the recently enacted health reform law.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act mandates that seniors who fall in the “donut hole” coverage gap in 2010 will receive one-time payment of $250 tax free.
